Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to build a website?

A simple brochure-style website might take 6-8 weeks, while a more complex site like an eCommerce store could take 12 weeks or more. The time frame depends on size, complexity, required features, and whether branding is needed. We can also work in an agile way or launch in phases for tighter timelines.

What is the cost of a web design project?

Our pricing depends on your requirements, with flexible staged payments. Projects typically range from £10k ($12.5k) to £120k ($157k), with an average of around £15-20k ($20k-26k). We have a minimum project size of £10k ($12.5k).

Will I retain full ownership of the design, development, and code?

Yes. Once the project is complete and paid in full, all design files and site assets are handed over and ownership is assigned to you. We do not retain ownership or lock you into ongoing fees.

What is the process for feedback, revisions, and approvals?

Our projects run in phases, with clear milestones for review and sign-off. We use tools like Figma for design and BugHerd for QA so you can comment directly on designs and pages. This iterative approach gives you structured opportunities to refine everything before final approval.

What ongoing support or maintenance do you offer after launch?

We offer care plans, retainers, and ad hoc support so you can choose the level of help you need. A website is never really finished, and we are available to support future updates and improvements.

Will the website be mobile-friendly and responsive?

Yes. We design mobile views from the start and ensure the site works and looks right across mobiles, tablets, and desktops.

Can I easily update the content myself?

Yes. We build on industry-standard CMS platforms and structure content so you can create and edit pages quickly without needing a developer.

Will my website be optimised for search engines?

Yes. Our SEO team is involved in projects to ensure solid technical and on-page foundations from day one. We also provide ongoing SEO services if you want to push performance further.

Do I need branding for my website project?

Without clear brand foundations and assets, website and marketing designs often become inconsistent. We recommend creating or refining your brand identity and guidelines before or alongside your website project.

How long does a branding process take?

Allow around 1 week for discovery, 1-2 weeks for initial concepts, and up to 2 weeks for visual identity and brand guidelines. Most branding projects take 4-6 weeks depending on complexity and feedback.

I have a logo already. Is this enough?

A logo is a strong start, but not a full brand. To design an effective, consistent website you will also need a defined colour palette, typography, imagery, and supporting assets.

Why is branding important for my business?

Branding shapes how people recognise, understand, and trust your business. It guides your messaging, visuals, and experience across your website, social channels, and marketing, helping you stand out and build loyalty.

What are brand guidelines, and do I need them?

Brand guidelines set out how your logo, colours, typography, imagery, and assets should be used. They keep everything consistent, especially when multiple people or teams create content. We strongly recommend having guidelines in place before major design work.

What does digital marketing encompass?

Digital marketing covers channels such as SEO, PPC, content, social media, and email used together to increase visibility, traffic, and conversions.

How do you measure the success of a digital marketing campaign?

We track KPIs like traffic growth, search visibility, engagement, conversion rates, and leads or revenue generated, aligned to your goals.

What kind of businesses do you work with?

We work with start ups, SMEs, and established brands across a wide range of sectors in the UK and internationally.

How do you create a digital marketing strategy for my business?

We review your goals, audience, data, and competitors, then design a channel mix across SEO, content, PPC, and social that fits your objectives and budget.

How long will it take to see results from a digital marketing campaign?

PPC can generate results quickly. Sustainable organic growth from SEO and content usually takes several months. We set expectations at the outset based on your situation.

How long does the website audit take?

A typical website audit takes around 2 weeks. As it is manually completed by our team, timings can vary slightly based on scope and workload. We confirm a clear timeframe when you book.

Will you fix the problems you find during the audit?

The audit highlights issues and opportunities. Fixes are not included by default, but we can quote to implement them and often provide discounted rates for audit clients.

Is it a manual review or automated?

It is a fully manual review by our team. We may use tools for data, but your recommendations are based on human analysis, not a generic automated report.

Do you look at my website’s SEO performance as part of the audit?

Yes. We review traffic, rankings, on site optimisation, technical health, and highlight SEO opportunities.

How do you ensure my website stays secure?

We use SSL, hardened hosting, regular updates, firewalls, malware scanning, and frequent backups to help protect your site.

Will I have control over my hosting account?

Yes. You have full access to your hosting account. We also provide management support if you would like us to handle it for you.

How often do you back up websites?

We take daily backups so your site can be restored quickly if needed.

What happens if my website goes down?

Our monitoring alerts us if your site is unavailable and we work to resolve issues quickly while keeping you informed.

What is the difference between regular hosting and WordPress hosting?

WordPress hosting is tuned specifically for WordPress sites, typically offering faster performance, added security, and tools that support updates and management.

How accurate is the SEO Checker?

It provides a reliable view of common SEO issues using proven metrics. No automated tool covers every nuance, so for deeper insight we recommend a manual review from our SEO team.

I need help with the results from my SEO Checker.

If you are unsure how to act on your report, our SEO team can walk you through the findings and recommend clear next steps. Contact us or send your report and we will talk it through.

What is the difference between an SEO Checker and a manual SEO audit?

An SEO Checker gives a quick automated overview. A manual audit is carried out by specialists who review technical setup, content, competitors, UX, and wider strategy in much more detail.

Can the SEO Checker detect all SEO issues?

It is effective for common issues like missing meta data, slow pages, or broken links, but it will not catch everything. Complex, strategic, or niche issues are better handled manually.

Will the SEO Checker show me how to fix the issues it finds?

Yes. It flags problems with practical suggestions. If you prefer, we can implement fixes for you.

Does the SEO Checker work for all website platforms?

Yes. It works with WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and most major platforms by checking universal SEO factors such as meta tags, speed, and mobile experience.

Should I rely on an SEO Checker or hire an SEO expert?

Use the checker as a starting point. For ongoing gains or complex challenges, an experienced SEO team will deliver more meaningful results. Both together work best.
